Kreston International World Conference 2019
From November 27 to 30, 2019, the World Conference 2019 of Kreston International, of which our firm is a member, was held in New Delhi, India, a key transportation hub from Central Asia to South Asia. 163 Kreston members from 32 countries and regions attended the conference, including four members from ARC LLC: Yoshimura, Nagai, Shibuya, and Nagamatsu.
Opening session
The event started with opening remarks by Mr. Rich Howard, Kreston international chairperson.
After that, an accountant from Kreston India, the host firm of this year’s event, gave a presentation on India’s economic and investment situations, and taxation system trend. He talked about the business opportunities in India, including the fact that India’s GDP is expected to grow at a high rate of 6% to 7% in FY2019 and FY2020. Rich Howard then presented the Kreston Group’s strategic plan for 2019-2029.
Shiv Khera’s Lecture “Winners don’t do different things, They do things differently”
Mr. Shiv Khera, a well-known global thought leader who consults and speaks to leading companies around the world, gave the lecture “Winners don’t do different things, They do things differently”. The lecture was the one that conveyed the passion of the speaker who talked about strategies for people to succeed.
Audit Group session
In this section, Mr. Andrew Collier, international quality representative, gave a presentation on the latest audit situation, followed by a very active round-table discussion.
Social gathering
One of the most important purposes of participating in the conference is to find member firms that we can feel comfortable requesting and accepting auditing services overseas. For this reason, we tried to communicate with members from many countries and regions during break times, when we could freely exchange opinions with members from various countries. This time, events such as a traditional Indian dance, an Indian wedding, and a Bollywood night were planned to facilitate communication, and we had fun while interacting with each other.
Delhi Couch Tour (City Sightseeing)
On the third day, we joined a city tour. A bus departed from a hotel for India Gate, an arch-shaped cenotaph in Delhi, India. We enjoyed sightseeing from the bus while feeling the hustle and bustle of India. We next headed to the Red Fort, a castle built by the Mughal emperors, which is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Old Delhi. The size of the castle is astonishing when you actually enter the castle and stand right under the walls. The last part of the tour was a visit to the government offices of India.
